Terms of Service

Last updated: February 23, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Wordcast and any related services provided by us. By creating an account or using Wordcast, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The Service

Wordcast provides real-time transcription and AI-powered translation for live events, primarily church services. The service allows a broadcaster to stream audio, generate a live transcript, and deliver translations to listeners in their chosen language via a web browser — with no app required for listeners.

2. Accounts

You must create an account to broadcast with Wordcast. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you are creating an account on behalf of a church or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Free Tier

Wordcast offers a free tier that includes one hour of live broadcasting per month. Free tier accounts have access to the full broadcast and listen experience within that limit. Additional features — including more monthly hours, team members, and extended transcript history — require a paid subscription.

4. Free Trials

Each paid plan includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. You will not be charged until the trial period ends. You may cancel at any time during the trial from your dashboard with no charge. Only one free trial per church or organization is permitted.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard; your access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by applicable law.

Overage charges: On plans with a monthly hour allowance, usage beyond your plan limit is billed at $6.00 per hour (pro-rated by the minute), unless you have disabled overage billing in your account settings. If overage is disabled, your broadcast will stop automatically when your monthly limit is reached.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Continued use of Wordcast after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Wordcast to:

  • Broadcast content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, or abusive
  • Infringe on any third party's intellectual property or privacy rights
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise misuse the service or its APIs
  • Circumvent usage limits, billing controls, or access restrictions
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow unauthorized access
  • Use the service in any way that disrupts or degrades it for other users

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation.

7. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all audio, transcripts, and other content generated through your use of Wordcast. By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, transmit, and store that content solely as necessary to provide the service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to broadcast any content you stream through Wordcast, including music, readings, or other copyrighted material. We are not responsible for any copyright claims arising from your broadcasts.

8. Availability and Translation Accuracy

We aim to keep Wordcast available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or any specific uptime. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability, and will aim to do so outside of typical service hours where possible.

AI translation is not perfect. Accuracy varies by language, dialect, speaker accent, and audio quality. Wordcast should not be used in contexts where translation errors could cause harm. We are not liable for errors in transcription or translation, or for any damages arising from reliance on translated content.

9. Intellectual Property

The Wordcast name, logo, and software are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, branding, or software outside of normal use of the service.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Wordcast is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or that defects will be corrected.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Wordcast, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100.

12. Dispute Resolution

We encourage you to contact us first at legal@wordcast.live if you have a concern — most issues can be resolved quickly and informally.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to attempt good-faith mediation before pursuing formal legal proceedings. Any formal disputes shall be governed by the laws of the United States and resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction.

13. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, fail to pay for a subscription, or if we discontinue the service. Upon termination, your right to use Wordcast ceases immediately. Sections relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution survive termination.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify account holders of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Wordcast after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you may cancel your account before they take effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Wordcast regarding your use of the service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings on that subject.
